 Cartooning as Science and Art
The Octagod is an exploration of what it means to combine the separate areas of Science, Art and Religion. As an art form cartooning has always been close to science. Indeed technical and scientific diagrams are a kind of cartooning. This form of science cartooning takes this thought to new conclusions. For me it's really a form of religious art but in this case the religion is science.

Nothing is really new
This theory of art is based on the logic of Flatland. In fact Flatland was a key inspiration for this form of cartooning. Taking Abbott's kind of thinking from math, into the rest of the sciences. When Science and Religion become art: Flatland becomes "Factland".

The plot of a good narrative science cartoon is a cosmic affair. It's a tightrope. Â
You're the artist. This isn't science for technology's sake art.  This is science for art's sake. These are two opposite, but complementary things. It's a blend of objective and subjective. As I've said in other parts of this website. It's about the Big Bang and the Body. Â
Narrative science cartooning is a rule based art form
some rules...
1. Everything is approximately the same size.
2. Follow the science. If there's a discrepancy between the science and the plot. The plot is what has to change.
3. The plots should to be good. These are real stories, not just explanations of the science.
4. Full human beings as you would normally cartoon them, are not allowed.
