I'm not much of a entrepreneur, let alone religious leader. I generally keep to myself and pursue the things I find interesting. Which over my seventy year life span have been in order; Science, then Science and Art, and then finally Science, Art and Religion. Coincidentally The Octagod first emerged on 8/8/88 in a basement at 82 Westervelt Ave. on Staten Island in New York. It was going to be a logo for a cable TV show, or maybe a logo for the Institute on Religion in an Age of Science. Nether of these things worked out. But the Octagod remained. It remains because The Octagod stands the test of time. It has a magical quality, like pi or the platonic solids. The amulet has power. Holding a scientifically literate symbol of the universe close to your body has real meaning. The Octagod Amulet uses science and the power of language to become an object of personal faith. But it's a faith without a false bottom. A faith that survives scrutiny. A faith in the facts.

The Octagod is for real. Just believe in the ability of language to name things, and judge for it yourself. All I can say is that I’ve lived with it for over thirty years and it never loses its ability to surprise. And as an amulet, that hangs near an expanding and contracting heart it’s power only increases. It won’t iron your shirts. And you can’t literally pray to it.
